A Perth-based motor trimming company has released a new range of protective machine covers to the Queensland mining business which are saving a number of the state's leading industries thousands of dollars in replacement parts and precautionary maintenance charges.

Modern motor trimmers has invested over 5 years researching and developing a range of ram covers for motors and excavators. The 'ripstop' PVC sleeves prohibit wear and tear, potentially tripling the life expectancy of ram seals and chroming, as well as generating important expense savings.

"That is the reason why we've developed our ram covers to be easily set up, they drop on and are safe either side by a patented clamp; the complete process takes about 45 minutes and can increase the life of the rod and seals by several times.

"Since an excavator ram can cost in added amount of $50,000, the expense savings are very stunning, which is why the demand for our covers is fast boosting."

One of the first companies to fit the preventative covers to its complete truck fleet was Western-Australia based FMG, at its mine in far north WA.

WA anf Rio Tinto in Queensland has also just placed a bulk order for the sleeves, which MMT is producing in a range of security colors, including yellow and orange.

"We're finding that the more progressive businesses are seeing the big price advantages, and our orders have increased by 20 per cent since first release into the Queensland industry only six months ago," Mr Spouge added.

"We're also doing work with a number of the bigger miners to custom model protective sleeves for other plant and machinery, and this bespoke, tailor-made service is an area which we can be looking to broaden into in the future."

The research and creation work carried out by MMT on the protective ram covers is an add-on to the company's center market, which is focused on the furnish, installing and maintenance of premium suspension seats and seating products to the The Aussie outback mining, design, engineering, developing and transport sectors.
