Vital Coenzyme Q10 Research You Need to Know

Due to the ever increasing popularity of COQ10, research has accelerated so as to validate the fantastic claims made by COQ10 enthusiasts.

  • It improves the function of mitochondria in the cell. Mitochondria is responsible for a cell to make energy. Research shows that those with heart problems lack coq10. In the heart, Coenzyme Q10 shows diminished levels of this critical compound in our hearts. Those with Parkinson's disease are also shown to have low levels of COQ10 with the mitochondria of their cells. Remember, mitochondria affects energy production of the cell.
  • Coenzyme q10 shows coq10 can slow the early stages of Parkinson's disease.
  • Those suffering from heart disease have heart function enhanced when taking a coenzyme q10 supplement. Its antioxidant properties research suggests inhibits plaque buildup.
  • Angina and arrythmias pains are less intense
  • It boosts the immune system thus helping to prevent and treat cancer of the breast and prostate cancer (more research is needed though) as well as helping in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
  • Helps chronic fatigue syndrome patients by helping mitochondria at the cellular level.
  • Works well with cholesterol-lowering statin drugs. In fact, some doctors recommend taking a coq10 supplement together with the prescribed drug as the cholesterol drug has a tendency to deplete coq10 stores in the body.

COQ10 Precautions - Recommendations

Here are my recommendations that have been gleaned from our coenzyme research regarding and also as pertains to recommended coenzyme Q10 dosage amounts.

  1. Maximum dosages as recommended by doctors is 100 to 200 mg a day depending on the ailment. e.g., for arrhythmias, anti-aging actions, high blood pressure, and cancer prevention, take 50 mg twice a day; for use with a statin drug, take 50 mg once in the morning; for symptoms of Alzheimer's disease and congestive heart failure, take 100 mg twice a day.
  2. Pregnant women especially should always consult with their physician first before embarking on a supplement -- this applies really to all, we suggest.
  3. Side effects are reportedly uncommon -- even at a very high coenzyme Q10 dosage intake.

Choosing A COQ10 Supplement: What To Look For

Make sure you take COQ10 along with Vitamins E, B3, B6, B12, as well as gugulipid extract for maximum synergistic effect. The supplements should be produced at pharmaceutical standard GMP registered facilities.

They should also have a Certificate of Analysis (COA) on file for review by you confirming the potency of the ingredients listed on the label. Enteric coated tablets is also recommended as it preserves the nutrients through the stomach until it can get into the upper intestine for assimilation.

Enteric coating is also important as skeptics say COQ10 loses its nutritional quality when traveling through the harsh gastric acids of the stomach.

Their vitamin product has over 95 vitamins, minerals, specialty trace nutrients, enzymes, and herbal extracts. This multivitamin actually doesn't have Coenzyme Q10 in it.

In fact, some experts believe Coenzyme Q10 loses its potency in the digestive system. But, there is a work around solution.

Key nutrients in the body, which this vitamin supplement has, actually help the body make the necessary COQ10!

Give the body the nutrients it needs, and it'll do the rest. Therefore, I do recommend that you don't take a COQ10 supplement -- instead take the nutrients that create it.
